Be clear on your assumptions and you should have a sample size discussion for any study (quant, qual, or mixed) that justifies your sample size. If it is based on availability then just say that. If you are doing a statistical power calculation then err on the conservative side 3/4

First, don't skimp on the methods. Many lean into the science and make the best argument they can and they write a decent design and find the whole thing is too long so they cut methods first. Review is done by panel, including methodologists and the subject matter experts defer to them. 2/4

I'd like to start a thread about #grant #review sections and get some perspectives from others who routinely do grant review. Here are three things I see in review sections all the time that have made me a better proposal writer 1/4

The reason is computer software. We the first regression algorithms were programmed it just made sense to show the betas and the p-values. Inference on regression was originally intended as a follow up. Like when you calculate a mean and then later test it against something else. So yes, do this 2/2

Good advice for many reasons you may already suspect but I will give you another: you can run a linear regression with no inference on betas as a descriptive tool to summarize data. Regression as a summary of your data is a legit thing that we just don't make enough use of. The reason is 1/2
