Tragic. I feel like my insides are being ripped out. The dismantling of our natural systems is going too far.

Natural systems are what sustain life on this planet. I see the connections every day in plant and animal communities. These living systems are currently under attack. I will fight until my end for the plants and animals and future generations of people smarter than us that need them.🦋

It's been a disappointing year for butterflies, again. I haven't seen many in my #nativegarden. It used to be common to see five or six at a time.

Enjoy one of the only red-spotted purples I've seen this year, visiting purple coneflowers.

I have L. spicata for early mid-season, L. ligulistylus for mid-season, and L. aspera for late season Liatris loving insects. Happy to add another variety to the party. I'll look for seeds.

I planted some Vernonia glauca, a dryland iron weed, and it is bringing in the butterflies.

I fucking love plants too, and really enjoy my work, and work with some insanely talented, dedicated, cool people.... wait!? .... there's just something about people who work with native plants.
And, being whole ass weird is where it's at Maddie. Rock on 💚
