06.05.2025 08:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A series of graphs of the proportion of arts roles occupied by people who went to private school compared to the general public, based on analysis from the Guardian. 30% of artistic directions, 36% of arts CEOs, 35% of BAFTA-nominated actors, 43% of classical musicians, and 8% of pop musicians went to private schools, compared to 7% of the general public.
Private schools are massively overrepresented in the UK's arts and culture while students in state schools increasingly struggle to access arts at all β and decades of cuts to affordable housing, social security, and education mean that gap will likely widen.
