Python is going to die as the language of data science and machine learning if it doesn’t adopt mandatory typing. Typed languages are inherently better for coding with LLMs and we are all using LLMs to code. Typescript is going to eat Pythons lunch and you should stop developing for it.

If we get this payment layer where we can pay for all these tools with micro transactions, then the future of subscription software looks very tenuous. Instead of managing a dozen monthly SAAS subscriptions to run your business, you'll have one subscription or pool of money to pay from.

That payment layer is going to have to be crypto because otherwise, everyone would get wrecked by payment processing fees.

Things I see for the future:
Crypto (finally) has a real-world global use case. AIs can use tools with MCP. Many of these tools will be loosely wrapped API calls. These MCPs can't manage thousands of API keys so there will be a payment layer on top that handles it.

The head of our country’s government is in the early stages of consolidating total power. We must of course reject this, but that is not enough. We have to respond by creating a different and better kind of American politics than we have seen before.

If I were a Dem, I’d be holding a press conference rn about how Trump is thinking about giving people in Greenland $10k a year at the same time he’s inflicting a 145% tariff tax on Americans who buy goods from China.

They started with the undocumented, then they went after visa holders and permanent residents, now it's naturalized citizens.

How many times must history rhyme and repeat before we realize what's going on?

Martha Stewarts first cookbook Entertaining modified to say Entertaining & Agitating: Public Lands Edition.

I've been looking for an excuse to make some recipes from this Martha Stewart cookbook and I found it by inviting my friends over to write postcards to elected officials about how angry we are at the attacks on our public lands.

Entertaining & Agitating.

The reservoirs in SoCal are all at or above their historic averages. In fact, almost all of the CA DWR reservoirs are. In 2022, CA had alarmingly low reservoir levels but that is not the case in 2025. The mfer is always working on dated misremembered and misunderstood data.

Trump’s EO about sending water from the NorCal CA DWR reservoirs to the SoCal ones and making a point about people over fish is an example of something that sounds right but is in fact stupid if you take 10s to look at evidence or talk to anyone.

I personally found lab work to be boring af so its interesting that we are inventing ways with reinforcement learning to scale the work to further fundamental knowledge without chaining some of our most ambitious scientists to benches to pipette for years.

Imho the most interesting finding from protein function prediction is how GNNs can ID similar structures with dissimilar sequences. That should make biosecurity applications more robust since more traditional methods like BLAST rely on sequence similarity searches.
