I think about how many times throughout history large swaths of a population straight up REFUSED to confront reality because it would impact their personal comfort and...this is all so recognizable. It's infuriating, it's exhausting.

No matter how fast I am when I get notified, I still end up on the hold list when the library adds books I've requested. Lots of readers in the area is a good problem to have.
