Second update: we did our best but I’m not sure if we technically completed the mitzvah of hearing the shofar because no one in my family has been able to get it to make anything more than a faint squeaking sound

It’s kind of unfortunate that “Baruch Dayan Emet” and “big dick energy” have the same acronym

Update: my shofar has arrived from Paris! It comes with a guide to using and maintaining it that advises new owners that “if you are successful at blowing, you will make a shriek like an elephant” but so far I can’t get it to make any sound at all :-/
