26.10.2025 00:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0the most generally recommended delivery method is pills, though, right? that's why people are promoting injections as an alternative. if they were already the standard recommendation, no one would need convincing.
26.10.2025 00:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I believe it was life-changing for you! good to hear
what I was originally asking about was whether it's also life-changing for people who *aren't* spending 10y trying to get better results out of pills, because they're happy with the results they have
and I did finally get an answer this time :)
well, it's either that or every other trans woman I know is a clueless idiot. or something in between.
26.10.2025 00:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0levels dropping throughout the day means it matters what time of day you get your levels tested, yes. that's a downside of sublingual. but if your trough level is high enough, it's not a problem, right?
26.10.2025 00:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0nah, your experience is good to hear. it's a data point. but it's one out of many, and so far, it seems more likely that you're especially competent and/or lucky than that every other trans woman I know is a dunce.

26.10.2025 00:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0oh god, I made the mistake of disagreeing with other trans women again
protip: never do that
π€·ββοΈ I'm judging by the first-hand experiences I've heard from others. people I respect who've been injecting for a long time and I believe are pretty competent overall.
it's great that you haven't had the problems they've had. maybe you're more competent, or maybe you're luckier. idk.
agreed, sublingual as the first line would make more sense than oral + AA
26.10.2025 00:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0glad it's working well for you!
here are things I've heard from other injection users:
"i'm bleeding & bruising way more than usual and it's much more sore than usual"
"hitting a nerve causes an ache running up my leg for like 15-30 mins after"
"it only hurts if my partner hit a nerve"
even just those are enough to explain why it isn't the first-line recommendation. people will screw those up.
hell, I've screwed up a zepbound injection, and that's literally just removing a cap and pushing a button

26.10.2025 00:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0the safety information that comes with vials is akin to the safety information that comes with pills
the FAQ list of dozens of things people actually worry about with injections has no equivalent for pills. no one frantically posts "I just took a pill, is it going to give me hypertriglyceridemia?!"
nah, that's not it
and I'm only reporting what I've read in the guide we're discussing or heard directly from people who inject
several actual safety problems are mentioned: bsky.app/profile/tara...
beyond that: the reason these questions are in the guide is that people ask them. they ask them because these things at least seem like a problem. best case, that's still added stress - and I see it expressed all the time.
I'm not arguing in bad faith, and I'm disappointed by the assumption that I am. honest disagreement is a thing, and it's what you're seeing here.
26.10.2025 00:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0things like this absolutely are about how to do it safely
26.10.2025 00:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 1there are many things (listed Β§5-7) that can go wrong with injections if you deviate from perfect procedure a little, or even if you don't
patches and gels have big downsides that pills don't. if T patches are as troublesome as E patches, it's no wonder they aren't the first line treatment.
