My hubby’s family are Jewish, and they have Muslim neighbours who are like family to us. The neighbour gave me my first job in this country, his wife became a very close friend of mine and they are godparents to my kids. I’m a Catholic, married to a Jew. That’s my 🇬🇧.

What an admirably clear statement from the Jewish Leadership Council, especially when all of those involved must surely have been dealing with so many other urgent challenges in safety, security and grief + shock today before having this further divisive and distracting intervention to address too.

Will be booking my Covid vaccine privately. My daughter is immunocompromised so I do it for her sake as much as for mine (thankfully she’s getting hers for free on the NHS).

You don’t actually have to both sides this. The Jewish community in the UK is not the Israeli government. You can just condemn the murder of two British Jews killed in their place of worship and you don’t have to say a single other thing.

That is a level of preparedness/skill I will never possess. Amazing 🤩

Morning. Still shaken up by the terrible events in Manchester yesterday; hubby’s family are Jewish (traditionally, not religiously) and so it brought the fear back to their family (the family stem from Polish/Russian Jews). I just hope things don’t escalate.

My husband did it a handful of times at our old shul. It’s not something one feels at ease about at the best of times, but after today it will be even more important, even if it feels more uneasy. I hope it all goes well for both her and the congregation.

I would say with near enough 100% certainty that all synagogues have security. It’s usually made up of the members of that synagogue.

Children in Jewish schools here in Britain have been taught for years how to deal with potential attacks on their schools. Jewish schools also have security above and beyond what most other schools have. It’s an every day reality of being Jewish. Sad, but true.

My barista (yes, I have one 🙄) calls my cappuccino-tiramiccino, as I always ask for the whole top to be covered in chocolate 🤣

Daughter having a full body MRI. Drove to Newmarket for it from North London, as her consultant is in Cambridge. It’s a two hour long procedure- I just hope she manages it as she’s a big fidget 😞
