MAJOR WIN FOR CLIMATE ACTION!

We've halted the demolition of Tihange's cooling towers!

Why it matters:
✅ Prevents irreversible destruction of billions in clean energy infrastructure
✅ Keeps the door open for restarting Tihange 1 & 2
✅ Protects Belgium's energy security & climate goals

But we shouldn't allow ourselves to be complacent—this will only occur if we plan strategically for this future demand by using all clean energy technology where appropriate.

The good news is that wind, solar & nuclear are being rapidly deployed to meet this growing demand, and the IEA forecasts that they will meet half of the world's electricity demand by 2030.

The world is electrifying and clean energy is leading the way!

A new International Energy Agency report forecasted that electricity demand will continue to rise by roughly 3.5% annually as industry and transport are rapidly electrified, and developing countries increase access to electricity.

Europe this morning has made another step towards evidence-based policy on modern plant science.

This is a big win for farmers, consumers and our environment as it will allow more efficient crops to be grown across the EU.

At WePlanet, we have been working towards this outcome for several years.
