Also - you can look at an actual conservative Democrat - like Manchin- and see whether or not they align on issues and policy. They don’t.

First of all, since the process was done in such a sloppy way, we don’t know who the people picked, do we? That’s the whole point. If your guy is really the pick of the people, it won’t hurt you to follow the rules.
