If it was just the playoffs I'd agree, but I think it's more than that. With Miller they know what they have now, Morrow was still a "maybe someday". The Canes have a history of trading prospects for known quantities. Sometimes you want them back (Morgan Geekie) but it's still a pretty good strategy

JS's ability to shut down elite offenses means that he prevents more goals than most players score, a hugely underestimated skill. I'm not sure KK will ever be on that level, but he's easily closer to it than anyone else they have available

Good article. I've always thought his defensive strengths made up for his lack of offense, but I hadn't really thought about him taking on Jordan Staal's role, although I've thought a lot this past season about how difficult Staal will be to replace.
