We just chased ICE off of Central Ave. We’re saying clearly that ICE needs to leave immediately and should not be funded.

One way you can help is by showing up tonight to caucus at 7 PM to support resolutions and candidates who are committed to not funding and completely dismantling ICE.

minnesota state rep alex falconer, eden prairie, asks, β€œis there something illegal about being in a chat group?” everyday citizens concerned about people being abducted, β€œif there’s something with people banding together in the face of fascism to protect our neighbors, fine. sign me up. that’s me.”

For the most part they didn’t have maps in a form we’d recognize today. Geography such as it existed was mostly done in loosely descriptive written terms.

In most cases they didn’t even have precisely delineated borders at all, the closest you got was when a particular river was recognized as a frontier.

Nothing even remotely like the modern system of tightly restricted international borders existed in biblical times.

1) I trust Chris on this

2) As if you needed it but this is more proof that these ding-dongs in the Trump admin had no idea what they were getting into when the decided to invade Minnesota. *We are winning.*

Judge Blackwell had ordered the SHOW CAUSE hearing because he was frustrated that in 5 Habeas cases he was presiding over, he felt his orders were being ignored, leaving immigrant detainees unconstitutionally locked up for days. Ms. Le said that govt lawyers just cannot keep up.

I have confirmed the gist of this report out of federal court in Minnesota today from a source familiar.

If you have more information about the District of Minnesotaβ€”either the court or the U.S. Attorney's Officeβ€”and how they are handling all of this, please reach out. I am at crg.32 on Signal.

I am on a panel right now talking about the current state of gender care and trans rights in Minnesota; but I know there are many questions around today's news in the state.

If you have a question: Drop it here, and I will get to it when I am able.

Care to folks.

How Not to Defeat Authoritarianism Moderation used to help Democrats win, but its advantages now have been greatly exaggerated.

...& here's the link to the entire @bostonreview.bsky.social forum. the lead article by Bonica & Grumbach is very compelling. I'm looking forward to reading the other responses this morning (which include Cori Bush, Amanda Litman, G. Elliott Morris, & others):

Trans rights aren’t tanking the Democrats. Julia Serano responds in a forum on β€œHow Not to Defeat Authoritarianism.”

very excited to have my response included in the latest Boston Review forum against Democratic moderation! here it is, my best argument for why Dems shouldn't "moderate" on transgender rights & LGBTQ issues more generally (as they are inextricably linked): www.bostonreview.net/forum/how-no...

This was super frustrating to watch. Bhattacharya must have known they were referring to cuts to individual studies. He gave an answer to a different question because there is no good answer for the questions the Senators were actually asking.

03.02.2026 21:13 β€” πŸ‘ 40    πŸ” 11    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Bhattacharya's response was incredibly frustrating. Clinical trials cannot be just switched off and back on without consequences.

AND many PIs of reinstated trials are hesitant to continue to recruit participants... bc Bhattacharya has been going on podcasts saying these studies won't be renewed.

MCMs strategy of putting all her chips behind Trump seems to have backfired spectacularly.

Not only did he dump her by the side of the road, she alienated countless potential allies repeating his xenophobic and false claims about Venezuelan migrants and staying mum on CECOT

Per Curiam Order Filed (Special Panel) – #01208818626 in Susman Godfrey LLP v. Executive Office of the President (D.C. Cir., 25-5310) – CourtListener.com Per Curiam Order Filed (Special Panel)

Here's the D.C. Circuit order in one of the four law firm cases (though it was filed in all four): storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

03.02.2026 20:57 β€” πŸ‘ 31    πŸ” 6    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

tl;dr: After slow-walking the law firm appeals for months, DOJ tried to rush the Zaid case to the front of the line. Presumably, they think they have a stronger case for a single revocation than the firm-wide efforts in the EOs.

But, the lawyers called it out and the D.C. Circuit isn't OK w/ it.

03.02.2026 20:55 β€” πŸ‘ 97    πŸ” 13    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

This followed repeated shenanigans from DOJ that the D.C. Circuit is not accepting.

I detailed them in this thread:
