I got to too much baggage to do that.

Whoโ€™s a pretty gray and white tuxedo kitty! Itโ€™s a week from her birthday (our best guess as to when itโ€™s at least).

Itโ€™s close enough to #Caturday

I like the ones where Iโ€™m 10 posts down and I get it!

They just keep dialing up the fascist behavior.

Iโ€™ve never felt like I needed to own a gun here, but Iโ€™m seriously reconsidering it to protect my home.

We had one ages ago, it wasnโ€™t great. I had horrible issues with a tablet from them too, sand donโ€™t get me started on the motherboard I owned. They are pretty much dead to me.

Iโ€™ve had the talk with my kiddo. They are in an older house right now without a lot of outlets.

a man is kneeling down in the snow holding a pair of skis Alt: From Christmas Vacation Clark plugs in the extension cord to light up the house lights creating a giant spark. his wife Ellen the flips off the one switch that controls all of the power (this would never work , itโ€™s only a 14/20A circuit) and the power strip with splitter upon splitter and 30 or so cords plugged in is shown (which was what I wanted to show)

Right? Iโ€™d so like to know what all was plugged into it.

Iโ€™ve definitely seen some frightening usage, like Christmas Vacation

I think itโ€™s key to teach kids how to use them appropriately so they arenโ€™t plugging heaters or other high draw appliances into them. Bunch of low draw stuff is good, a couple of high draw items is bad, not even one should go in there.
Loose plugs, also bad.
New houses have arc fault now as well.

So we know a family whose house burned down from a bad one. She swears on buying them every year now.

I think quality ones hold up, but checking for heat and loose connections totally makes sense. There are a lot of cheap ones for sale these days, betting many arenโ€™t even UL listed :/

I hope the slow fill wasnโ€™t from low BP.

They always have trouble with my wife, and she is horrified by needles. So I can kind of relate.

So I get this as related to surge suppressing tech, that will wear out upon reducing spikes.
As far as copper wire and connectors, I donโ€™t see how they are any different from an outlet, if well built.

Outlets can get loose after years of use and should be replaced if thatโ€™s the case, butโ€ฆ
