Finishing off October with the best Dracula adaptation. Yeah that’s right, Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992). I will listen to no arguments πŸ“½οΈ #horrorsky

I’m obviously going to share a Barbara Steele thread in Halloween. I love The Ghost, a genuinely creepy film

Hammer’s Countess Dracula, which is more of a Bathory riff than a Dracula riff. Still very fun

Shock β€˜em Dead is another that punches above its weight about a dork who makes a deal with the devil to become a rock star. Most importantly, Traci Lords

Gonna share some Halloweenie threads. First up Spellcaster, which should be deeply terrible but ends up a pretty fun watch with charming effects

The ending gets way more hardcore than I remembered, so 14/15 is probably a more appropriate age

2 things that always kill me:

Billy’s mom being ready to kill at the drop of a hat and Phoebe Cates trying to keep up as a bartender to a bar full of Gremlins

Feels like a rewatch kind of night. Now watching Gremlins (1984). I think this movie has one of the best settings ever. A snowy small town at Christmas adds so much. Gremlins mayhem is so much worse in snow. This is also the 1st time I’ve noticed Jonathan Banks is in it πŸ“½οΈ #horrorsky

Would probably really depend on the kid. I think mostly yes. While not explicit, there are 2 attempted sexual assaults, but they are treated as unequivocally bad. I kid into spooky, witchy stuff would have a blast for it and its definitely a teen movie. But for 13 I'd probably recommend watching 1st

Now watching The Craft (1996) aka Lee reignites his long standing crush on Fairuza Balk. On the shortlist for the hottest anyone has been in any movie ever. Also this movie kicks ass πŸ“½οΈ #horrorsky

Pre-baseball movie is The Fly (1986). Thankfully I finished dinner before Brundlefly showed up. β€œI must not know enough about the flesh myself, I’m going to have to learn” might be the most Cronenberg line that ever Cronenberged πŸ“½οΈ #horrorsky
