it is so easy to internalize that judgemental gaze, to carry it with you even when no one else is around. if youre not careful you might wake up one day and realize you forgot how to let your guard down long enough to actually enjoy (or accomplish) anything (2/4)

i think that growing up online and spending so many formative years grinding in the social media panopticon, frantically monitoring your community's unspoken canon of correct interests/behaviors for self-preservation or status, is really really bad for development! (1/4)
