Last night, I went to a double feature of Maya Deren's short silent film "At Land" (1944) on 16mm and Christopher Nolan's "Inception" (2010) on 35mm.

It was a lot of fun to experience two movies from different generations, both themed around dreams.

The Criterion Collection release of Seven Samurai on 4K Blu-Ray.

Last year, I saw the 4K restoration in the cinema and I'm super keen to watch it again.

I recently rewatched one of my favourite movies of 2024, Better Man!

As a huge fan of musicals, I really enjoyed this film. It features some of the best musical numbers I've ever seen, and the new arrangements of Robbie Williams' songs are phenomenal!

Happy 38th anniversary to one of my favourite video game franchises of all time, Metal Gear!

The first game was released on the MSX2 in Japan on the 13th of July 1987.

Last night, I watched the 1925 silent film "The Phantom of the Opera" on the big screen, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

The version shown was a restored edition by Photoplay Productions, accompanied by a superb orchestral score composed by Carl Davis in 1996.

I recently purchased the James Bond: Sean Connery 6-Film Collection on 4K Blu-ray!

This set includes all the 007 films produced by EON that star Sean Connery, presented in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, as well as the original mono audio.

It’s time for a Bond marathon!

I had a blast at this year's Queensland Games Festival!

Every year, I'm blown away by the innovation and creativity of our local game developers. Can't wait for next year!

Playing the Metal Gear boardgame today - just finished the first two levels and plays surprisingly like the game itself. Even has story segments with codec calls!

Definitely check it out if you're a Metal Gear fan.

I recently watched Pink Floyd at Pompeii on Blu-ray and loved it!

The new Dolby Atmos mix is a sonic delight and makes me glad I upgraded my surround sound system last year.

It was a real treat watching Kiki's Delivery Service on the big screen!

The chalk art used to promote the screening was a nice touch.

Last night, I attended a screening of The Man Who Saves the World, also known as Turkish Star Wars. It was the most fun I've had at the cinema! The film represents B-grade cinema at its finest, and I highly recommend it if you love martial arts films.

Happy 15th Anniversary to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker!

First released in Japan on the 29th of April 2010, Peace Walker is my favourite game on the PSP and remains one of the most impressive titles ever created for a handheld game console.

I'm also keen to play through some of the Star Wars games. I recently purchased a copy of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The only Star Wars game I completed was The Phantom Menace video game tie-in on the PS1.

Although my birthday is the same day as Star Wars Day, my experience with the franchise has primarily been through the films.

However, after seeing the "Revenge of the Sith" re-release on the big screen, I watched the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" series and loved it!

Today marks the 25th anniversary of Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, which was first released in Japan on the 27th of April 2000.

Ghost Babel is an alternate sequel to the original Metal Gear from 1987 and is widely regarded as one of the best games for the Game Boy Color.

The soundtrack in Cowboy Bebop is the reason why speakers were invented.
