#solarstorm update 💥 - the CME predicted to arrive early Friday, November 7th seems to have impacted L1 around 04:51 UTC today - speed around 793 km/s, Bz initially northward with strength around 13 nT and currently at -7 nT

Geh bitte, für den Kerl braucht man momentan eher einen Schweißschirm!

Ja, das hätte ich vor 2023 niemals für möglich gehalten, dass wir hier tatsächlich PL sehen können.
Man braucht aber auch ein bisschen Glück dazu.
Da ich in einem Tal lebe, muss ich für PL immer zumindest auf meinen Hausberg fahren. Ich fotografiere zw 1.600 und 2.100 m Seehöhe.

If NOAA SWPC's CME model is correct, we may get hit by a pretty fast solar storm Thursday night. Impact speed is almost 800 km/s.

Currently, there is a G3/Strong Storm watch for Thursday and Friday, and depending on what we see at Earth, auroral displays may be seen further equatorward than usual.

Gestern zu Allerheiligen gab es im Süden sogar einzelne Temperaturrekorde für November: Die 21,7° in Villach lagen mehr als ein Grad über dem bisherigen Rekord.
