Thanks, Sasha. I might revisit this one soon. It keeps calling me back. I've dealt with a close family member's ongoing hideous psychosis, and someone else's suicidality in ways that were utterly demoralizing and despair-inducing. I need to write about it somehow.

Thanks, Teri! I might give it a go and send it to some folks I trust. I really do think this experience is worth writing about. I just want to do it carefully, honestly, and empathetically.

Specifically, a character dealing with psychosis and suicidality. I have very personal connections to this experience through people in my life, but writing about it is extremely challenging for both ethical and creative reasons.

Two years ago, I started writing a story about being in the blast radius of someone's messy mental health crisis, but I worried readers would interpret it as making another person's mental health crisis about yourself or stigmatizing their experience. I still want to write it but have no idea how.

One thing I like about doing freelance fiction editing is that I often have no idea what I'm going to get. I've edited cosmic horror novels, body horror detective novellas, Weird Westerns, etc. Kinda rad to get so much variety!
