The language difference might be that the department of defense is a government ministry which would be a cost centre funded through government revenues whereas Canada Post is a crown corporation with its own CEO and board of directors and ability to raise its own revenues to pay its operating costs

Looking over the Epstein book messages, I'm struck by how comfortable everyone was with compiling something like this, contributing to it, and receiving it. Something most people with common sense would avoid like the plague.

But the super-rich and powerful know how insulated they are.

The absolute audacity of American politicians people these days. Like, do they not know that we all have receipts? Is consistency (the opposite of hypocrisy) no longer a value to be upheld in public life?

This is firmly a local issue imho. I support a strong library system and if locals in a city/muni want that they should pony up via higher property taxes (or not) and face the ballot box repercussions.

The American people gave him and his party a majority knowing full well what the Project 2025 plan was. Sorry, but electing them has had severe consequences on the entire world. Those consequences also need to be felt in the US somehow, and it’s up to Americans to fight for the leadership they want

I grew up there in the 90s. It’s always been bad. The bridges have always rode the line between both being an annoyance and a secret blessing for folks that live there. It makes it hard to leave, but even harder to visit.
