Don’t know what Dem will be running against her and maybe district is so red as to be unwinnable, but IMO her opponent could run ad with this clip and then just say β€œShe is completely and totally full of shit and a disgrace to South Carolina and our country.” Seems like a winning message

What about CBS?

Well, come 2029, based on current performance, I expect the media to argue that, while obviously an impaired President isn’t ideal, at least everyone around Trump was super level-headed, competent, and had the moral fiber needed to stand up against any excesses planned by a senile leader.

Not the key point here, but it’s noteworthy IMO that he can’t even lie clearly. He should write β€œthe allegation that I know about project 2025,” not β€œthe fact” but that level of clarity is beyond him. Or maybe his subconscious wanted to tell the truth, hence fact? Nah…no part of him is truthful

This seems right to me: usually GOO just wants to block things, stop change, and filibuster useful for that. But if Trump decides he wants shutdown over but won’t give Dems anything, then how long will this strategic GOP thinking last? Or do you have something else in mind?

This shows fighting for what’s right pays off. Don’tβ€”DON’Tβ€”cave to Trump and GOP on budget bill. Withhold your voteβ€”and every Dem voteβ€”unless they stop breaking the law right and left.

Excellent idea. Also how about banning masks for law enforcement (absent COVID like health reasons)

It’s depressing that, so far as we know, no one involved in this action resigned rather than carry it out. β€œI am convinced so-and-so is a drug dealer β€œ does not make it legal or moral to just kill them

True maybe in 2 ways: actual rates up but reported rates may go down because well that’s how this administration rolls

Do you recall how Barr misrepresented the Mueller report as clearing Trump…and news organizations took his statement as credible and basically said β€œno story here”. And bad as Barr is and was, he’s 10 x more honest than the current White House denizens. So why report their statements credulously?

Hmmm, polls looking kind of bleak for Donny boy. Wonder what he’ll do to turn things around. Maybe pardon Ghislaine and fire Powell: that should do it

I’ve been thinking Trump would not fire, or try to fire, Powell because the blowback from Wall Street would be too much: I.e., TACO. But if Powell shows him up, as he appears to have done (and kudos for doing that), all bets are off; wouldn’t be surprised if in a day or two Trump tries to fire him.

I ranked Zohran but definitely not at the top. Gotta say, reading this piece makes me far more enthused about voting for him come November. Humor & humility are appealing & not often seen in politicians

This is funny but I worry it’ll give them the idea of dropping 30,000 pound bombs on LA

If the Times hadn’t gone all in on Hillary’s emails from the very start but instead had treated it as the minor faux pas/nothing-burger it was, odds are we would be in a different world now

Trump should fire Kristi Noem today, before close of business. Yeah, I know it’s not going to happen, but that doesn’t mean Dem Senators and everyone else shouldn’t be calling for it.

I basically agree but you have to admit that when it comes to flat-out corruption, it’s hard to find his match

Pretty sure the real litmus test in 2028 will be whether or not you did everything possible to oppose Trump, by that time recognized by almost everyone as the man who killed the economy, put millions out of work, shut hospitals, hugely raised prices and destroyed faith in the U.S.
