absolutely crushed a presentation at work today. unprecedented amounts of positive feedback, accolades in my performance plan, literally made someone cry (positive). just call me the brene brown of generic work slideshow decks.

As a slow writer, I approve of this message (& also I needed to hear this. I often feel “behind” because I started later, because I’m disabled & have limited energy, because I’m not prolific, because because…)

1. LLM-generated code tries to run code from online software packages. Which is normal but
2. The packages don’t exist. Which would normally cause an error but
3. Nefarious people have made malware under the package names that LLMs make up most often. So
4. Now the LLM code points to malware.

I got cornered into giving my opinion on generative AI at work today and what shocked me the most was that all these normal, not particularly tech literate people thought it was great. Hoping I provided some food for thought but dang, we are so disconnected from the means of production.

and those who write pages of detailed description and realize no one's spoken for eight pages

Applied for a job today that might actually let me use my degree. I feel kind of stupid about it because my current job is very good and how many people can say that, but it's more money and more growth opportunities. We'll see if I get the interview I guess :v
