I'm sure I don't need to tell YOU, but more people could stand to know that there's a similarly derived solution to Iterative Prisoner's Dilemma: 1) start honest, 2) tit-for-tat when defected on, 3) randomly forgive at the same rate as the error rate in communication.

Well, I mean. The fundamental principle of social democracy is: 1) try everything, keep what works; 2) if it stops working, repeat step 1.

That bonus panel reminds me of the section about the mathematics division of the WPA during the Depression -- Harry Hopkins decided "they need to eat too" and "it's not like they cost a lot." One of them solved the four-color math problem and it lead to modern semiconductor design.
