We, the employees of the NLRB, are calling on members of Congress to reject the Senate’s proposed funding deal unless it includes meaningful reforms for ICE and CBP’s operations.

Our Union has never endorsed a government shutdown before. But we believe we have no other choice.

The only threat that Cuba poses to the United States is that their continued independence is a reminder to every other country that they don't have to bend the knee to Yankee imperialism. It is for that crime that our government wants them destroyed. I know whose side I'm on.

Today is, among other things, a reminder that you don't get a general strike by posting that we should have a general strike.

You get a general strike—on the rare occasions you do—by the long slow slog of building organizing power with those around you in response to local conditions.

Also obviously c) tax cuts and other incentives to private corporations take money out of schools & other public services.

Anyway, it's a fun new sleight of hand to keep an eye out for!

These things could theoretically drive prices down, except a) we have enough monopoly & cartel behavior that prices can be kept artificially high and b) with deregulation, externalities won't be priced in — cutting red tape usually means hidden costs to workers & communities.

A fun new trick some Democratic politicians have learned is to say "affordability" but mean "Abundance": deregulation, rapid development, more public money for private corporations.

ICE took two Princeton residents into custody, including a father of 4 after dropping off his son at school. The failed practices of ICE have led not to community safety but to the breaking up of families. The pretense that their mission is to deport dangerous criminals has been shown to be a lie.
