It’s hidden in a report somewhere, but they made some design changes so that the crest canyon alignment (and maybe Camino Del Mar idr) in the EIR will be studied at 110 mph

What's in β€” and what's missing from β€” San Diego's new 'Street Design Manual' The city's design standards on everything from crosswalks to medians to bike lanes haven't been overhauled in more than 20 years.

Take my hand as I guide you through San Diego's new (draft) Street Design Manual and what it does β€” or doesn't do β€” to build a safer, more sustainable and more livable city.

Been working on this one for a while, hope you enjoy! www.kpbs.org/news/public-...

At least Eldon doesn’t seem to do much locally. One time some ucsd Econ professor basically took over a uccpu meeting giving a 15 min long public comment on why it shouldn’t be upzoned

A bit disappointing and confusing that the second entrance/exit at ucsd central campus is emergency exit only. Would be convenient for bus transfers if it was always open

This process remains very silly, because the racetrack view dr portal has not been studied or mentioned until this graphic, and remaining on the bluffs is guaranteed to be rejected by the coastal commission and anyone who lives there

New alignments map:
- along I-5 but exiting near the racetrack (previously exited in Solana beach)
- along crest canyon but with slower speeds and curves that keep it mostly in the canyon away from private property
- under Camino Del Mar
- reinforced double tracked bluffs

SANDAG staff proposes studying the following new alt alignments:

- under Camino Del Mar

It seems like emergency vehicles already have signal priority at intersections, what’s holding us back from giving it to buses?

College Area Community Plan Update | City of San Diego Official Website

The first draft of the college area community plan update is out:

- most single family areas left untouched, upzoning mostly confined to arterials (but still up to 27000 new homes apparently)
- bus lanes on parts of ECB and college
- road diet and promenade along part of montezuma
- new bike lanes

Streets that got flex posts in 2024 (that I know of):

Convoy St
Balboa Ave
Regents Rd
Nobel Dr
Clairemont Mesa Blvd (maybe, idr)

Streets that didn’t:
Mira Mesa Blvd

Streets that didn’t get bus/flex lanes: all of the above
