yeah, we gonna need to see the receipts on that. How much did "they" make before things were broken; how much are "they" making now? what's their clickthrough percentage? bounce rate? do you have any of those stats? no, you don't. so your claim is baseless.

There are several elegant solutions to this; I never see ads. The comments are full of suggestions, so I'll spare you mine unless you're looking for advice. I do commiserate with you -- tons of websites totally unusable because of ad placement.

Spite and jealousy have nothing to do with it. The website owners want $, and the more ads they display, the more $ they get. Web developers want to stay employed, so they do what their employers tell them to do so they can pay rent and groceries.
