Game 53. Midweek social for Gudivers. I took a rare catch in the field, and a wicket with the ball.

I also finished a run out at the bowler's end, although it was given not out. I normally do this wearing gloves, so I found out that whacking wooden stumps whilst holding a hard ball hurts your hands

Game 52. A defeat at Northallerton, but a good, well-contested game. An excellent tea, too good for those of us fielding 2nd. We may need to arrange the games based on the quality of teas in future.

Despite not playing in an innings longer than 55 overs, I am now an expert on whether to take the new ball or not

Cricket game going on underneath a Simpsons credits sky, mainly blue with a few fluffy clouds. The ground is surrounded by open fields with large trees dotted every 20 metres or so. The foreground is in the shade as the sun is behind us.

Game 51. A convincing win. Two more drops, both stood up to the wicket. One under edge was tough, but the 2nd was simple. Held 2 catches stood back to feel better later.

Games 49 and 50. Double header Hundred games at Westerdale in the heart of the North Yorkshire moors. We were the warm-up act for the trophy match, so played in front of a proper crowd.

Game 48. Midweek social. Not able to turn up till part way through but fielded and kept wicket. Got a catch and a stumping, both off players I've played with previously. So that was fun.

I told some of my midweek team last night that I'm playing 2 Hundred games today and, although they thought it sounded a lot, they weren't that surprised

Can't believe I missed this. I'm a big fan of your books and would've loved to have been there

Game 47. A convincing win over a very young team at Studley Royal. Their innings was manipulated to give them some respectability, hence my first official bowl of the season, and a full 8 over spell at that! Happy with figures of 2-39, which helped speed the game along to everybody's satisfaction

Game 46. A 1 wicket loss to a touring team on a rough looking pitch near York races. A very good, well balanced game.

Game 45. A very convincing win over top of the league. A poor day for me though as someone connected with the oppo took umbrage with me goproing whilst stumping. He stormed on complaining that they had juniors and I "could be a fucking nonce"

Did he answer by doing his Mavis Wilton impersonation and said "I don't really know"

I think old Auric was a nicer, more law-abiding fella
