If you, like me, want to donate money to help the people of Gaza in various ways, but feel overwhelmed by the amount of accounts + the knowledge that some of them are scams taking advantage of people's goodness, the following are orgs and ppl that a person I know is working with:

Rob whistle | Robert Hutton | The Critic Magazine The day had begun with Robert Jenrick accused of racism. This is of course quite unfair. Racists believe in something. Some of us remember Jenrick as a chubby-cheeked fan of David Cameron fighting theโ€ฆ

It's quite wrong to suggest Robert Jenrick is a racist. Racists believe in something. My SKETCH.

Robert Jenrick's Honesty-Dodging That someone as dishonest and hypocritical as the Shadow Justice Secretary was not long ago shamed out of public life is a damning indictment of the state of politics and media in the UK

Agree. His whole career is framed by dishonest opportunism.

โ€œIn any properly functioning democracy, someone with the sort of record of dishonesty, amorality and rank hypocrisy of the Shadow Justice Secretary would have long ago been shamed out of public life.โ€

Honestly I hate Jenrick more than Farage. Far more sinister because of the speed of his transformation from off-the-shelf Tory mediocrity into dead-eyed National Front race-baiter

Dubai presents the hard-right vision of utopia: a place stripped of workers' protections or the right to protest, a place of pure environmental dereliction, a place where everyone drives everywhere, a place where the queer and the gender-fluid are told from birth that they simply do not exist, a place where citizenship is defined along narrow ethnic lines and everyone else is there on sufferance, where the super-rich and well-connected can simply do and consume as they please. A place where the poor are simply cleared out of sight.

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. Iโ€™ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

In a time of hate and rancour, two Jews sought to pray โ€“ and were killed. Let Manchester be a turning point | Jonathan Freedland This was a horror but with so much intolerance and antisemitism, no one can say it was a surprise. There are lessons to learn, and that must start now, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland

"For you, itโ€™s an article of faith that โ€œanti-Israelโ€ is not โ€œanti-Jewishโ€. But not everyone is so careful." Powerful and poignant by @jonathanfreedland.bsky.social; shd be read by everyone ignoring the PM's call for people to respect the grief of British Jews.

The โ€œEd Davey is obsessed with Farageโ€ takes are weird.

A) The media is obsessed with Farage
B) If the next election looks anything like the polling, it will basically be a progressive/populist bloc election. Labour wonโ€™t be Daveyโ€™s enemy. Theyโ€™ll be his path to govern.
