Mac Deford Condemns Racist Video Shared by the President, Says Abuse of the Office Cannot Be Normalized

“This isn’t politics: this is disgraceful.” “A sitting President of the United States chose to amplify a video that uses one of the oldest racist tropes in American history to demean our nation’s first Black President and First Lady. That’s not satire. That’s not humor. That’s outright degradation, and it stains the office he holds.”

“Leadership means lifting people up — not dragging America back to its ugliest chapters for clicks.” “When the President shares this kind of garbage, dismisses the backlash as ‘fake outrage,’ and hides behind flimsy excuses, he normalizes cruelty. When racist imagery comes from the Oval Office, it carries the weight of the nation.

This wasn’t politics. It was an abuse of power. And it deserves to be strongly condemned.
