There is little outrage when drivers strike and kill people who are trying to cross the street. Our streets are designed to ferry as many vehicles as possible as fast as possible with no regard for pedestrians. How sad for these victims’ families. The devastation.. the loss.

We celebrated our 5th Anniversary in style w/an afternoon full of non-stop fun. We danced cumbia, baile folklorico w/our favorite mariachis. We had a piñata, hula hooped, Zumba’d & played sapo& lego. More importantly we got to thank our earliest & most stalwart volunteers & coalition partners.

We had another great bike class! We are here every Monday from 6pm to 8pm we offer lessons and a safe place to practice & learn important safety skills. Classes are free and open to all ages. Thank you to everyone who joined us tonight.

Last year Roberta at age 47 learned how to ride a bike on our Open Streets. Now she is a regular on our weekly Family rides. Each week we visit nearby cultural attractions, mom & pop places & other interesting things in and around Jax Heights. Join us Saturdays at 10am on 34 Ave & 93 St.

Thank you to all of our neighbors who joined us this morning to clean up & plant. It’s a great family activity. We meet every Saturday from 10am to 1pm in and around Jackson Heights. We bring the mulch, plants & tools - we just need you!
