A 30-SECOND FIGHT WITH THE KLINGON HOUSES.
30 SECONDS.
Star Trek Academy Klingon epi.
Let me get this straight.
Jay Den, pacifist, levels up his speech from 0 to "wins a planet", and Obel, Klingon leader (whom nobody can know helped the plot) PUBLICLY declares Jay Den is a true Klingon warrior for losing pathetically but talking?
Fuck off, script.
7. Fml I'm so mad and frustrated lol
But still, kudos to the cast, you guys definitely show you're working very hard. I wish the writers were more skilled to use you better.
6. Because as it stands, the ONLY races I see as being represented as truly unique are Lura and humans.
The rest is just feels like a catastrophic, whitewashed, human-centric loss of diversity. Token aliens everywhere, and writers not skilled enough to BOLDLY GO into showcasing differences.
5. I wouldn't mind that some chars like Jay Den might be part of a diaspora, explaining why they are homogenized. But to keep it Star Trek, SFA should've done what DS9 did: have like a group of Ferengi exploring different levels of acculturation, so here a 2nd Klingon who is gratingly A KLINGON.
24.01.2026 17:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 04.1. Star Trek was revolutionary because it WELCOMED and EMBRACED differences, didn't shy from exploring differences, and didn't homogenize everyone and turn the script colorblind.
24.01.2026 17:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 04. I am biracial and Original Definition Woke, ok? I do NOT like that all of the racial and gender differences in these trials have been sterilized and homogenized. Even accusing the hologram of cheating - essentially a character racial difference - was so stupid that I actually was getting angry.
24.01.2026 17:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 03. The mascot infiltration plan was hilarious, but what the actual hell is this convoluted plot where they deduce Ake is telling them some wildly specific response in a prank war for empathy? Jesus Contrived Christ. Student growth could've been them just debating an appropriate reaction organically?
24.01.2026 17:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 02. Holly Hunter playing a cat allergic to chairs would be a better watch than the character they gave her here. Ake doesn't quite feel like a multidimensional character, which is jarring on an adult, so her lectures often feel forced. The writers are trying but it just doesn't feel sincere.

High point continues to be Lura's actress, and the cast showing up to work
I'm SO FRUSTRATED though!
1. The selection of a captain was NOT for actual leadership skills. Both of these kids aren't great leaders. Could've work with that to have better earned char arcs
I laughed way harder at this than I should've, oh god
20.01.2026 02:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Also Star Trek Academy: The ship design felt like an afterthought. Everything looks impractical (though cool & "Final Fantasy"). Like saying "Tachyons off of port" then showing starboard getting hit just ... ugh.
Teleporting rules confused me and felt contrived to try to make up for the bad ship
Star Trek Academy felt uneven but watchable. Some parts were cool & the actors showed up, but the plot felt very predictable
"Programmable matter" was lazy writing, as is Caleb having baby plot armor & being an ace pilot. The physics NEEDS way more consults, and villain is a cartoonish distraction
The White House is asking people not to share pictures of the East Wing because itβs even worse today.
