When trying to learn about a struggle or context, what came before can be daunting to get an understanding of. With Myanmar @edithmirante.bsky.social work has really helped me learn more, that I maybe wouldnt have got to otherwise.
Very grateful to have been able to get a copy of her new book.

12.01.2026 20:23 β π 5 π 4 π¬ 0 π 1Over the past 48 hours, more than ten individuals from the Myanmar diaspora in Minnesota have been detained by ICE and U.S. Border Patrol. Most have already been transferred to Houston, Texas, where they are now awaiting bond and deportation hearings. We have confirmed that many of these individuals were pressured by ICE officials to sign documents that would waive their legal rights and result in immediate deportation. Our staff has been working tirelessly alongside affected families, immigration attorneys, and trusted community partners to support those who have been detained and to protect others who may be at risk.
Absolutely devastating.
Message (Via news letter) from "the urban village" who work with mainly Karen & Karenni diaspora youth in Minnesota.
10 community members detained by ICE. Now at risk of being deported back to Myanmar.
