In “Macpherson’s Letters, &c.” (Evans 11713) from 1770, John Macpherson Sr. in Norfolk says he received his son’s Dec. 24 letter from Philadelphia on Jan. 31, his Jan. 14 letter on Feb. 1, and his Feb. 22 letter on Mar. 1.
