Fort Myers FL had best turnout yet!

Honestly, it has remained in my top 5 since I first read it. And rereading it, I can see why. There just isn’t anything else like it. I’ve read other books since by Ozeki, and they were good, too, but not to the caliber of this one.

Books I read in June. I truly enjoyed each one…except 1984 was a bit difficult to get through because it felt too real!

A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki. I read it when it was first published 12 years ago, and I’m enjoying it just as much the second time.

Fantastic turnout in Fort Myers, Florida. In this big retirement area, we had a huge increase in young people and people of color compared to previous. There was also a continuous parade of cars with signs that drove past honking horns.

I never read these kinds of books, but a dear friend sent it to me, so I’m going to give it a shot.

Best turnout in Fort Myers ever. Protesters on both sides of Rt. 41. Lots of appreciation shown by drivers via horn honks, thumbs up, and peace symbols. For a red county, very encouraging.

@booker.senate.gov made history yesterday.

He made genuinely β€œgood trouble.”

During his brilliant record-breaking filibuster, he asked β€œWhere does the Constitution live, on paper or in our hearts?”

All of us are called in our own way to answer that question by our actions, not just our words.

Oh yeah…and I read The Goldfinch when it first came out. I loved it up until the end. It ruined the entire experience for me. I will say, though, I can still see scenes from the book in my mind, so I know the writing was powerful.

I have read Unsheltered, and liked it a lot.

I had 2 favorites in February: Harlem Rhapsody by Victoria Christopher Murray and The Exiles by Christina Baker Kline.

Usually I’m not this far ahead. In June I will adjust my goal depending on where I am at that time.
