Used to watch Olympic events on CBC back when I had a C-band, big-dish satellite late 90s until early 2000s. The announcers got so overwhelmed when Canada would win any kind of medal, especially in the summer sports. It was refreshing, and I can only imagine now in this environment.

Miss hearing @dbdugger.bsky.social talk about seroconversion. It explains my getting full-blown mono at 5 and why my T and B cells crash with COVID. I just wish doctors actually seemed to be interested in knowing if it's going to be permanent or just inescapable as I can't fight reinfection.

There's been so little push back on their campaign to eliminate the medically vulnerable why would they stop now? They just changed their angle of attack to target genetic differences and people were suddenly OK with it as long as no one mentioned things like color, ethnicity or religion.

Just my presence in the lab as the only one masked. It's been 2.5 years since they nixed masking in healthcare, I don't really go anywhere else, so medical settings are where I catch it the most now. I think I'd need BSL-3 precautions at this point to avoid it with my tanked immune system.

Wondering if it's worth having my T and B cells retested for the third time. Apparently there's no real plan to fix the damage there, so is it worth the risk of yet another nosocomial infection just to know that, yup, it's still giving me near AIDS level numbers? F'ed either way.
