I finished drafting a new story just now!

Writing novels for me always seems to be accompanied by frequent inner screaming. Hugs.

I want to read this novel when it’s out in the world.

I was having a hard time getting into the voice of a new character, when I ran across a blank book that just grabbed me. I purchased it, and it became the diary of my main character in my novella, Live Update, published Sep 2022, Issue 192 of Clarkesworld.

It’s that time of year when the Hugo Award reading packet ensures I have great sf/f reading material for more than a month.

While cleaning up saved links in my laptop, I ran across one called “Mason’s apartment”. It took me a few seconds to realize, oh, that’s where one of my characters lives.

It’s a one-bedroom in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago, and has a boho vibe.

Hope I sell that novel.

I remember when I shifted from tracking rejections to tracking what got published (which now includes translations).

I wrote a micro fiction piece today. That might not sound like much, but my spouse died in March, so writing this was an achievement.
