Two way road for cycling with limited one-way entry for motor vehicles.

I can't get over the amount of high-quality cycling infrastructure in towns outside Paris!
We cycled in Orléans, Blois, Saumur, Tours, Caen & found separated cycle track/cycle priority, low/no motor vehicle city centres & ongoing improvements for cycling including Dutch roundabouts.

This cannot be the final treatment. The amount of push back from council officers about making the road green and pedestrian-friendly (& therefore cyclist-unfriendly in their world view) to see this is un-f***ing-believable.

My local pharmacy (Norlington Chemist, Hackney, London) is on a no-through-road, five minutes walk from my house. I usually don't wait, instead I go down the road for a coffee or to the bakery & come back to pick up the prescription.

We have also submitted written evidence today. We are extremely concerned about these exclusionary amendments which would make comprehensive safe cycling for children, families & many disabled people impossible.

On my rush hour trip home tonight a car driver failed to give way to me as he exited a side road onto Whiston Road, causing me to brake to avoid colliding with his car. He then sped off... and I caught him at the traffic lights.
So yeah, not nearly as good a commute as the Dutch.
