In light of Trump II’s first 18 days of mayhem — including his and Musk’s coup against our system of government — many are asking: “What can I do now?”

Here’s a revised and expanded list, in rough order of importance.

Can we support immigrants’ right to be in this country without valorizing and normalizing their exploitation? “They keep the cost of produce low…”, “They do jobs no one else wants to do…” They deserve living wages and good working conditions as much as anyone else

Any small gains have been performative, won at the expense of real change that would’ve muted Trump’s appeal in the first place

If you’re only now freaking out about the crises facing immigrants, lgbt, poor, poc, disabled, etc. please recognize the majority in these communities have been in crisis forever. It’s not the sudden dissolution of civil society, it’s the disillusion that it was ever civil to begin with
