Still in my social media contemplation project. I've noticed that my social media usage used to be creative, but over the years, it has become increasingly consumptive. I read posts/watch videos/etc; I rarely make them. I feel disconnected/helpless & creatively stagnated. I imagine this is related

I am reminded to think of how often I used to just shift to the latest thing back in the 00s. Maybe it will be easier than I think to start leaving things behind again

Switched the search widget on my phone homescreen to duckduckgo. It's not enough, I know, but extraditing myself entirely from the g ecosystem is not feasible at this time, so it's a start with more change to follow

Clearing out my inbox and deleting links I sent myself back in 2018 (What you don't send yourself things to read later and then promptly forget about them?) and finding, unsurprisingly, that most are not functional. Full of archivist thoughts about this

One of my key resolutions for this year is more proactive use of social media as opposed to mindless scrolling. I want my life to be more than consuming content. More thought, more creation, more community, more connection, less dissociation. Can it be done? Time will tell
