Haskell is fun but in my experience, it's not easy to adapt common game making idioms into it; although I probably was doing it wrong at the time. Rust is definitely suited for it though, and it's what I currently use with the bevy game engine. The type system is definitely rust's center piece.

You gotta diversify! There are plenty of languages with proper type systems (rust, even java), especially functional ones (ocaml, haskell, ...)
