Here's a few examples: Christ as Good Shepherd = Hermes Ram-Bearer, Jesus in chariot = Sol, Pantocrator = Serapis minus his modius crown

Early depictions of both figures are Hellenistic—modern Christ's oldest representation is likely the Pantocrator of St. Catherines of Sinai.

"It’s a wildly ambitious venture that hits the mark without fail, sacrificing nothing along the way in the pursuit of making something that holds eternal value."

Aces represent causes. They are pure potential and the earliest lessons of humanity. In LOGOS DIVINÆ, they’re:
TAGES—the Etruscan child prophet made of clay♦️
KHEPRI—the scarab who raises the sun at dawn♣️
PROTEUS—the truthful Old Man of the Sea❤️
NYX—goddess of night, second ruler of the world♠️
I made LOGOS DIVINÆ as a way to encapsulate the metaphysical facets of our world and our selves in a way that is more intuitive than the tarot traditions before it.

Robert Fludd's cosmic man.
The Hermetic adage "that the above is of the below" is echoed in the tarot, where each facet of the macrocosm—zodiac, planets, elements—are reflected in the microcosm of the world, our bodies and being. With macranthropy and RNG in a shuffled deck, tarot reading brings our aspect(s) to attention.
01.07.2025 17:49 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0With the exception of the Marseille deck, most popular tarot decks are "Neo-Hermetic" in origin.
Waite/Smith's deck incorporated 19th cent. Hermetic-Christian imagery. Crowley/Harris mix modern art with their own philosophy of Thelema. The two were on opposite sides of an Hermetic order's schism.
Cosmic associations found in various Hermetic tarot formats.
16th cent. Milanese trionfi cards, which would become "tarocco" or "tarocchi" before becoming "tarot" in French.
Initiation societies were underground orgs with spiritual & philosophical overtones in the wake of the 30 Years War.
Inspired by fortune telling, alchemy, & perhaps Giordano Bruno's memory—they embed cosmic associations into "trionfi" playing cards, which were developed in the 15th cent. Milan.
Mamluk, Italian, French, and Hermetic imagery associated with the Ace of Clubs (Bastoni, Wands, Rods etc.)
As an Italian-American game designer, I knew tarot suits were derived from the playing cards my cousins used overseas, (the Piacentine format is my fav) What I didn't know about tarot's occult dimensions—was that it all suddenly emerged in the Enlightenment Era—between two Revolutions 🇺🇸🃏🇫🇷

Over decades working in and on games & reading everything I could find about myth across my life, I've become an expert on the iconography of the gods, their cult centers, and their roles in shaping the world according to ancient poets, prophets, and philosophers.

I'm of the opinion that cartomancy, (tarot reading) should be reclaimed as a game. It's been tricky to articulate what this is and is not, but I'll try in this thread. (1/7)
