This is fantastic! Two years ago, I wrote about how the law will eventually treat gender no differently from name, and how name changes were difficult, but now it just happens.

Critics claim gender clinics are seeing an excess of trans boys. But new data suggest otherwise Some claim ‘social contagion’ is driving teenagers who were assigned female at birth to identify as transgender and seek medical care.

I'm glad this specifically names and discusses the mechanisms of societal transmisogyny and harsh policing of transfemininity under patriarchy, which results in transfems staying closeted for longer. While the number of trans men and women are roughly equal, trans women tend to come out later.

We see the same numbers in referral rates in Norway as well. Trans boys do not meet the same social consequences as trans girls, so trans girls come out later. The total is 50:50. How can we make it safer for trans girls to come out? 🏳️‍⚧️

Some REAL good news;

The EU is backtracking on its earlier decision to abandon stronger anti-discrimination protections, following a campaign by @ilgaeurope.bsky.social.

Now there will be stronger protections and rights in the EU for LGBT people.

It is genuinely interesting to see what crowds Labour will listen to. Tens of thousands for Palestine, for Trans rights? We can fuck off.
