It remains my recommendation for anyone with even a passing interest in the law or the criminal justice system to spend a couple of days sat in your local magistrates court and watch what goes on. I would be surprised if it didn't affect your views.

1 - My son and I met with Wes Streeting last year with other families. He heard the most horrific stories of children refused blockers and how it impacts them. We begged him not to ban blockers, and he promised to work with us, to have further meetings.

To be absolutely clear on this, one of our volunteers received a letter from a cabinet minister acknowledging the contents of the Discord leaks, including comments talking about serious abuse. The government knows exactly who they are including in these consultations.

That tax bill indicates that the estate is closer to £1.4m.

They have still inherited £1.22 million.

To get to that tax figure, the estate is worth closer to £1,370,000…

Also:

• IHT is payable by instalments.

• They directly paid the first instalments from money in the estate.

• They didn’t pay tax on the first million pounds of their inheritance.

There’s a sleight of hand going on in that article.

• The house was worth 1.2 million.

• There’s then another near £100,000 in savings.

But this is an estate of closer to £1.4 million to get to that tax figure.

This is barely a 1% tax rate.

Just to clarify: we don’t actually know whether Hilary Cass recommended a ban on puberty blockers. The Cass Review itself doesn’t say that. Instead, the DHSC sought “evidence” from three “experts”, including her, which was kept secret.
