See October thinks it's the king of Autumn, said Wolf to Old Fox as they wove along a boggy path. But the true Autumn crown is November's. Only in November are the haws and the berries and the leaves brighter than all the Tower gems! Only in November is the sky as pale as moor-snow & as blue as the Arctic seas! Only in November do a thousand stars fall and tumble and scatter in a dark, smoky sky!

Some thoughts on the CR/minibus.

1 The Dems negotiating with Rs were not freelancing. They coordinated with Sen Schumer. A few were ready to give in on day one, others worked to maximize appropriations wins.

Those voting for the 'deal' are the ones furthest away from electoral consequences.

OK OK but after saying "not going to guillotine you" he immediately takes one of them out at random, Negan-style, with a barb-wire wrapped Louisville Slugger

I can't keep up, is the RightWingWorld decrying the crime-ridden immigrant-infested hellhole of NYC today, or are they wringing their hand and sorrowfully offering prayers for the future of the Great American City they all so deeply and sincerely love?

This coin operated 'Opium Den' automata is one of the least morbid creations of Leed's based John Dennison, the first person in the world able to make a living out of arcade slot machines which proliferated in Blackpool in the late 1800's. Other subjects included executions & drunk in a graveyard.

She's fantastic, and the performance was a true show. I generally find venues like TD Garden too big and impersonal but she really shrank the space and made it her own.

Have not gotten through all of them, but really enjoying the Jean Rollin films on Criterion. Atmospheric, lyrical, a little smutty, a lot gothic. All about 90 minutes. Really fitting the October mood #criterionchannel

I suspect Platner is exactly the kind of candidate (for all sorts of reasons) that would draw this type of person back into voting, and I think there are a lot of people who fit a similar profile. Enough to offset losses from other groups? That's the scary unknown.

I think that is true for a subset of voters, but another subset will SAY they value civility then vote (R) across the board. I am also thinking of a young (well mid-30's) acquaintance, very pro 2nd am, Bernie voter to non-voter, doesn't care for Trump but hates mainstream dems.

It's been a privilege to visit Chicago a few times over the last couple of years; it's vibrant and alive, and I feel as though you could spend years exploring it and still never fully grasp the whole. A great american city.

heretical priests and strange sex magick rituals! in the 70's satanists were quite dedicated to attempts to birth a new dark overlord....whatever happened to that?? Less some of the (light) gore and nudity, felt like something from Mystery! in the 80's when that show was a bit weirder.

Do any of these people actually do any sort of real work? Or just hop from government employment (while hating the gvt) to right wing grift $$ and back again etc etc?

This deserved a big bowl of popcorn/large soda. Scuzzy, campy, surprisingly energetic and still current. Absolutely atrocious early 80's fashions, and a NYC you probably don't want to re-visit. Absolutely luminous Zoe Tamerlis, knew nothing about her (or her sad short life).
