I am sad to announce that I will not be returning this fall as In-Arena Host with the Oshawa Generals. The past 2 seasons were nothing short of spectacular and an incredible experience. I have so many people to thank for this incredible opportunity.

Nothing felt earned.

If you are a fan of the show but haven't experienced the games, I cannot recommend enough that you do. Pick up a controller or watch a playthrough, because the games do all of it SO. MUCH. BETTER. Shoutout to the creator of this YouTube video Daniel Netzel.

When the show was announced, we were excited. I was wary of the casting choices, but I was ready to watch. And it just felt... empty. Devoid of the essence the game provided. Gone were the quirky moments of brevity, the strength and resolve of Tess and Bill, and the gravity of Joel's decisions.

One of the first games I had my gf play was TLOU. Maybe wasn't the greatest intro to gaming, but she ran with it and thoroughly enjoyed the story. I would help her play through the scary parts, but she became attached to Joel and Ellie just like I did. But she wouldn't play PT2

The marketing had lied to us. They inserted Joel into a cutscene he couldn't possibly have been in. Abby was barely marketed and she's a massive part of the game. Why did they do this? I made a video on the game, poured all my opinions into it, but I kept playing.

Then the 2nd game came out.

I did my best to avoid all spoilers, but was skeptical of this new Abby character. My experience with that game was like a lot of others, blast through Abby's part so I can get back to Ellie. But Abby's section kept going, and going... I felt betrayed.

To this day it remains one of the most brilliant pieces of storytelling I have ever experienced. This is a game I have replayed more than any other. Reliving each moment like the first time, trying to find all the Firefly pendants and artifacts, testing my skills on Grounded mode.

I was gripped instantly by the gritty gameplay, brutal action, and deep character bonds that are formed with Tess, then Ellie, Bill, and Henry & Sam. Every story beat was meticulously crafted, with symbolism etched into every piece of dialogue, every action, and location.

I experienced TLOU for the first time in 2014 at University. I had just become friends with an ex of mine and her older brother was a big gamer. He was playing it on a projector in an empty lecture hall and they both told me I had to play this game. So I started my own save file

Season 2 is in full swing and I am struggling to watch this show. As a diehard fan of the games, nothing has captured my feelings about this show more than a YouTube video I stumbled across a few days ago. Specifically, the first game is a huge part of my life

I said this during the WJC as well. IIHF needs to sort out their officiating and their penalty choice. Just some brutally soft calls putting teams at a disadvantage at terrible times

If Canada is looking for more offence, they could try Zablocki with S. Manness and Tiller. Zablocki and Tiller are vibing in this game, and Manness plays with Tiller in Burlington. There’s club chemistry there that could be tapped
