The more he posts the less I think he seems much of any real insight.

Maybe we need to build relationships with people we don't agree with, professional relationships, as a barrister you should be aware of having to represent people you don't agree with.

It is all about control, all of Farage's vehicles have worked when it is just him, put another person in there with any sort of ambition and it falls apart. It would be a cabinet of yes men, nobody worth their salt would work in that environment.

And the reality is somewhere in the middle.

We don't write the laws, we interpret them as best we can and try to apply them to the situations in front of us, the law is complicated and officers might get it wrong, particularly new laws which haven't been tested. Freedom to protest in the UK is protected and police facilitated on the whole.

There will always be failings, police are human, they reflect society. But most are caring and brave and do the right thing, they reflect society, but a broad brush ACAB is a comforting way to not have to engage in a balanced way. Inside there is real movement in challenging and changing culture.

I understand the issues, these are dreadful cases but writing off all officers ignores those working hard to change things, those broad generalisations are no help to reform.

We do the job, we did it here, locking up the white bloke with a big knife, but still get grief.

The work that goes into investigating misconduct is huge, and Sarah Everard will forever sit as a reminder to officers to do more, but it isn't a trump card against all policing you disagree with.

That is literally the job Sharkboy, use the powers given by the state, arrest the people breaking the law etc etc. why has this article not got a picture of the "trowel" so we can see how foolish the officers were to mistake it for a knife or sharply blades article.

Amazing how many people who are carrying screwdrivers are just popping to change a light switch, or Stanley knives are fitting carpets or carrying baseball bats in the car for a game of rounders but without a ball etc etc.

No if you want a solicitor you can have a solicitor, but you have to wait for them, no bullshitting, there is a shortage of solicitors.
