I know someone who's trying to build concrete homes where I live and the slow part is the city planning department who still think we should build nothing but short conventional material homes and only single detached, who say no to anything different despite city action plans and council promises.

The consumer wants to buy Canadian, but the grocer wants to keep status quo of buying American. And hey grocers, American tariffs don't matter to people OR GROCERS who aren't buying American. In fact, tariffs just make us want to buy American products LESS. And not just groceries, EVERYTHING.

My guess is it isn't AB that thinks it, it's the oil companies who think it, and I imagine they already own refineries and don't want to build more. And they think they run AB. And AB's premier seems to think so too.

Our household has been refusing 'smart' devices other than cell phones. In fact, we just installed a landline for our child to use to call friends and family (to allay the allure of cellphones).

Also they are landlocked.
