We journeyed home from Somerset to Norwich one Christmas. Standing room only. People pulling friends on, begging others for a little more room. My daughter (13) was so anxious, & I was concerned about the safety. But couldn’t afford to buy another ticket or stay in a hotel. Upside was sharing candy.

He moved to Canada while young and was now in his 60’s. My point is that so many people use the NHS having not paid in for some time, but there only seems to be outcry when it’s from certain backgrounds.

When I visited Canada I chatted to a Scottish guy who would fly back to the UK for his diabetes meds as it was cheaper. I wonder how many ex-pats do this…

I was delighted to get off the bus in Manchester & see a Timmy’s. We bought a latte, some nibbles, & some Timbits for my son who we were visiting. Then we felt awful about all the waste we’d generated - just for a snack! This will one day be as shameful as smoking in the same room as a small child.

Staying at my partner’s mum’s in Kendal. She’s insisting that I use this time to relax and not let my partner talk me into any 16 mile hikes.

He’s taking me on a bus to Ambleside for a “mooch”. He’s just checked that I’m wearing my walking socks. Hmmm…

It’s nice to be able to go away without worrying about it affecting a uni deadline. I’ve missed the feeling of being almost fully relaxed!

Met my sunshine in Manchester to see how he’s doing in his new situation. I’m much happier now that I’ve met his friends and seen his accommodation.

Now in Kendal for a few days. First task will be to buy a new rain coat…

Terrible nights sleep in York. People shouting in the streets all night. Huge argument at 5am. Such a shame for a beautiful location to be tarnished by bellends.
