His Hail Saten collection is great too. Good peek at the state of horror in the late 90s/early 00s.

I've admittedly read too little of Brian's fiction, but his nonfiction is captivating. Such a humorous and brutally honest look at the insides of the horror fiction community from someone who's been living it for decades. Really, really dug this one.

Two more days! Canโ€™t wait to unleash this dark little piece of hillbilly gothic out into the world!

Creepy green-toned B&W photo of an old creepy-ass farmhouse -- grass around it looks dead, the trees behind are leafless. Someone stands in the center of the frame, ill-seen, blurry, as if they barely exist in the world. This is part of the cover of the book THE BOOK OF ACCIDENTS by Chuck Wendig, cover by Fritz Mesch

It would seem as if THE BOOK OF ACCIDENTS is a mere one-ninety-nine from your favorite electronic book-o-matic website, so if you like haunted houses, creepy coal mines, disappearing serial killers, weird owls, and the problem of generational trauma, then this might just be the book for you.

Can I come on your podcast to talk about my forthcoming dark comedy book, Daddyโ€™s Boy?

Itโ€™s Shamelessย meets Guy Ritchieโ€™sย The Gentlemenย with the incompetence ofย The Hangover.

@davidmoody.bsky.social calls it โ€œa wild, no-holds-barred, unpredictably violent family comedyโ€.

Get in touch.

And it was hilarious and disgusting in equal measure. Still gag sometimes thinking about it.

He had the uncanny ability to unsettle you with a single shot, or a single phrase. The scenes of the curtain blowing in Blue Velvet made me nearly as uneasy as the rest of the film, and I could never tell you why. Maybe David Lynch couldnโ€™t either, but he knew they needed to be there.

Words to live by. Exorcize those demons by inflicting them on some other poor, hapless schmuck.

I canโ€™t promise anything making sense, but if you ever find yourself back near the Rockies Iโ€™m sure I can dig up a strange brew for you!
