I don't believe the Oklahoma City Thunder won the NBA champion. I think circumstances won it the top prize. I would have really enjoyed seeing the Thunder and the Pacers battle it out without Hali's devastating injury.

Unpacking her commitment to the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders and how it plays into her proximity to whiteness and the the desire for it would have been fascinating. I know that's not what this show it, and yet I still would have loved to see it.

They actively avoid the subject of her race in this series and it was so loud the entire time. As someone who did a short doc on trans racial adoptions just a few years ago, I recognized similar themes in her story. I'd love to see her sister and see how she turned out.

I knew from jump Chandi's mom's race, the racial makeup of her childhood environment, & how it shaped her "quiet girl" personality before the reveal on America's Sweethearts. Showing her response to the cheerleaders fighting for a livable wage was telling. Her dad abandoning her 💔

Is it? The owner made decisions antagonistic to the core audience, and diminishing local coverage I suspect will exacerbate that. The Post is a local publication that does national news. That's how I believe its audience sees it.

I totally understand this, and then I realize how much of the U.S. English speaking population doesn't know a noun from a pronoun and often incorrectly conjugates verbs for the nouns. So, from a grammar standpoint it doesn't register for me anymore. LOL. I should have clocked they/she option.

Quick q: Should Layshia's pronouns be they/them? I'm wondering if it's a typo because you say they are non-binary.
