oh black jack chapter 58 “seat of pleasure” is great. one of the “sealed chapters” that was never republished so the scanlation varies in quality between pages which adds to the “lost episode” vibe. the page where they turn the stimoceiver on and the kid starts smiling freaks me out every time

the cask of amontillado is pretty good i think. masque of the red death and the pit and the pendulum arent really scary but theyre baller. the premature burial sucks but i like it

that panel where skulldozer's internal spider-worm thing is peeking out of his mouth is definitely a bit inspired by five nights at freddy's. i didnt realize until a friend pointed it out that his "haw haw haw" sound effect is also something freddy fazbear does

skulldozer is back. i think i was trying to give brother 141 a slightly different lettering style than 72 with those slanted lines, but i wasn't really sold on how it looked so i didn't end up doing it on any of the other pages. maybe i'll try it again sometime

panel 1 is most directly inspired by tanosuke drawing his cursed sword in tezuka's dororo. its not really very similar but brother 141's sword doesnt have anything special about it so i didnt want to make it look too cool. im not sure how well the action works on this page but it could be worse
